Steel Magnolias

Steel MagnoliasPlays July 12th – August 4th
Regular Ticket Price: $30
Check website for dates and start times

Step inside the cool indoor theatre and enter the 1980’s at Truvy’s beauty Salon.
Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who isn’t sure whether or not she’s still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, (“I’m not crazy, I’ve just been in a bad mood for forty years”); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good ol’ boy.” Every endearing character makes “Steel Magnolias” a hilarious, heartwarming audience favorite. The underlying strength—and love—give the play its enduring appeal.

August 3rd, 7:30 pm
Regular Tickets: $20

Keep your super-cool on with a fantastic desert folk concert August 3rd. “Gloriously beautiful and savagely strange,” is how Marc Higgins, of Northern Sky Magazine describes them.  3hattrio will perform “Lord of The desert.” This trio has captured a unique sound that is haunting and otherworldly!  “It’s a compelling, hypnotizing, uncompromising sound that naturally pushes boundaries to create an idiosyncratic genre this band can rightly call its own,” says American Songwriter Magazine.

Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing

August 9th – 11th, 7:30 pm &

August 11th, 2 pm

Regular Tickets: $30

As if you couldn’t stay any “cooler” this summer, you can beat the heat and laugh at the same time with some of Shakespeare’s most beloved characters, Beatrice and Benedick. Watch them match wits in this Wild-West adaptation of the hit romantic comedy “Much Ado about Nothing.” Kayenta’s production combines the talents of professional artists, local favorites, and student actors to create a vibrant fusion of storytelling that is guaranteed to please.

Thank you to www.alanholbenphoto.com for his talent and photography used to promote many Center for the Arts at Kayenta and Kayenta Arts Foundation shows and events.

Unless otherwise mentioned, events will be held at the Lorraine Boccardo Theater, Center for the Arts.

All programing is subject to change. For more information on these events and to purchase tickets please visit www.kayentaarts.com

Coyote Tales

Relive the Coyote Tales Magic through our updated Archive link

On April 21 the Center for the Arts at Kayenta was the setting for eleven storytellers who took to the stage for the fourth sold-out performance of Coyote Tales. This event was a departure from our regular open-mic storytelling format, most notably because storytellers were invited beforehand, instead of being chosen that night from audience members who put their name in the hat in the hopes of getting on stage. Additionally, we asked the audience to vote for their favorite tale of the evening through an online voting system. For each vote, a donation was made to the Kayenta Arts Foundation.  Matt Clark’s touching story was the evening’s top earner. Of course it goes without saying that every teller was an audience favorite; and every storyteller’s tale raised much-needed funds for the Center for the Arts at Kayenta.
Dot RichmondIf you missed the performance or just want to relive the magic, please check out the updated Coyote Tales website @ http://coyotetalesstories.com and click the archive link. Once there, you can listen to the April 21st performance or hear past shows. Let us know what you think.

We are looking forward to our next event, slated for October 19, 2018. For this event we return to our traditional open-mic format. The theme is, “Right place, right time.” If you are interested in getting on stage, please contact Victoria through our website. And while you are there, get some tips and tricks for telling your own great story. We’ve got some fantastic storytellers already signed up but we’d love to see you on The Coyote Tales stage.

BMW and Kayenta

Kayenta Homes & Properties

Our marketing efforts are far reaching.

We were contacted by BMW this year as their advertising agency found out about Kayenta through our website. They wanted a beautiful southwest desert landscape to showcase the new BMWX5 and thought Kayenta and one of our beautiful homes would be the perfect place to do it. Listing your home with Kayenta Homes and Properties gives your home visibility in our community, the greater St. George area and beyond.

If you follow this link (scroll down until you see the “TV Footage” video) you can see how BMW put the Kayenta spin on their own marketing.

We make sure your listing will be seen.  We have the proof.

Ivins no-kill animal supporters

The month of July is filled with recognition and celebration.  On the 4th-of-July along with grand displays of red, white and blue, fireworks can be a part of the festivities.  In Utah residents also celebrate with fireworks on Pioneer Day, July 24th.  This brings concern to many pet owners.  Two informative websites to visit to assure we are doing all that we can to keep our pets safe and secure (especially during unusual circumstances) are Victoria Stilwell’s “Positively.com” (for dogs) and Pam Johnson-Bennett’s “catbehaviorassociates.com”.  We hope both you and your pets enjoy celebrating both holidays!

INKAS understands the power and importance of websites so we have begun the process of updating and improving our site.  Currently we are evaluating companies and compiling ideas.  If anyone is interested in offering ideas or technical support please contact INKAS @ 435-414-4802 (Lois) or 503-803-1438 (Sharon).
