KAYENTA HOMES & PROPERTIES

Volunteers Needed for Kayenta’s Parade of Homes 2020 Entry

St George Area Parade of Homes

We hope you all had a happy, healthy New Year.

130+ party goers attended our holiday open house, with a great mix of long time residents and new home owners. It was wonderful to see all of you! We would like to extend a special thank-you to Victoria and Erin for helping with the food.

Now that we are heading into the New Year, it’s time to bring the community together again for volunteers to our 2020 Parade Home. The dates will be February 14th through the 23rd divided up into 2 hour and 15 minute shifts. Our orientation meeting will be on Wednesday the 12th of February at 2pm at this year’s Parade Home.  We will go over the hosting process and give you the opportunity to be the first people to view the home.

Please follow this link to sign up and lock in your spot or two!

New Year, New Concerts, New Shows & More!

Make 2020 Your Most Entertaining Year Yet!

The Center for the Arts at Kayenta (CFAK) is jumping into the New Year a bit early.  We are more excited than ever!  Why?  Because there are more events, concerts, plays, movies, and lectures than ever – Oh My!

After just two years, the southern Utah grassroots art movement at CFAK is heading into the New Year with a BANG!  Their unique, intimate, multidimensional programming includes renowned singers and entertainers from across the nation.  Did I mention more shows than ever before?

2020 will feature more than 75 events, including youth theater, music and arts workshops.  After the success of the sold-out camps that culminated in performances in James and the Giant Peach (talk about Grand Finalé!), the whole CFAK crew is looking forward to “launching” the Kayenta Academy for youth ages 8-18 in the summer!

Check out our fabulous January line up, then visit us online to get your tickets today!  Our shows have been selling out – so don’t wait!

“We put our trust in Steve, Jeff and Nancy and it was an incredible positive experience.”

We can't speak highly enough of our experience with the Kayenta Homes Real Estate team of Nancy Kosick, Steve McAllister and Jeff Sproul.  We had been looking in the Kayenta area for well over a year and truly, having a local team, who knows the area, lives in the area and is so knowledgeable made perfect sense for us.  Being new to the area, the team was very patient, approachable and responsive to all our questions / concerns from start to finish.  They provided great feedback on homes and even lots and represented us with a personal touch on properties we wanted to pursue, providing honest and unbiased feedback for us, not trying to convince us to do anything.  We found that perfect home and the process from making the offer to closing escrow could not have been smoother. Thank-you.

Theme: Flawed!

Date: Friday, February 7, 2020

Coyote Tales

Friday, February 7, 2020 is the date for the next Coyote Tales live storytelling event. Do you have a story about imperfection?  Has a defect, a fault, or a flaw brought about an unexpected consequence? Has a blemish, glitch or a weakness spoiled your appreciation of something you once thought beautiful? Perhaps a perceived shortcoming has lead to a serendipitous result. Oh, do tell.

Coyote Tales are live, open-mic style storytelling events with amateur and experienced storytellers. Each event has a theme on which stories are to be based. The theme for this event is: “Flawed.”  Potential storytellers may address that theme in any way they choose. Prior to the event, storytellers craft their true, on-theme story, practice the telling (5 minutes or less), and work on eliminating excess detail to nail the perfect ending. When the doors open, potential storytellers put their name in the hat in hopes of being chosen to share their tale. If chosen, the storyteller takes the stage to delight the audience.

Before the show, Coyote Tales and Petite Feast are pleased to announce that we will be hosting our third annual gourmet concession stand. All proceeds from the bake sale will be used to fund a one-of-a-kind art project for the students of Red Mountain Elementary School. Through this project we hope to further The Center for the Arts at Kayenta’s mission to bring art in all its forms to our community.

Enthralling stories, fantastic food, great music…and all profits are donated to good causes. Coyote Tales has become one of my absolute favorite events held at The Center for the Arts at Kayenta!” – Kathy Johnson

It is my firm belief that stories bring the community together in a way that is often lacking in our too hectic lives. Through the sharing of stories, we as a community, become more connected and involved.

Thanks for your support – Vic

For more information or to get on stage to share your tale, please contact Victoria through our website.

This event is generously supported by Utah Humanities, Petite Feast, Desert Dwellers at Equity Real Estate and The Center for the Arts at Kayenta.

$150.00  2 hour, outdoor session. Second dog from same household: $100.00.  MUST CALL TO RESERVE  A PLACE FOR BOTH RETEST AND CLASS.  Dogs must be over 9 months old.  With Instructor Jay Smith: 15 years experience, mentored by renowned expert Webb Parton.

Southern Utah LOVES Rattlesnakes!  A rattlesnake vaccine only gives you more time before your veterinarian must step in to save your dog. Keep you and your dog safe by training them to avoid snakes!

Is The Training Dangerous? No! As with any avoidance training, it is necessary to begin with the thing to avoid: A live rattlesnake. The animal is de-fanged as a safety necessity, a painless process that only lasts about 7 days before they grow back. This allows the instructor to safely use all three association sources for your dog: sight, sound, and scent.

How Is It Done? Snake behavior modification is achieved with the controlled use of an e-collar. This is the ONLY use of a corrective collar at Woof! After the correction is applied, the dog immediately thinks they have been bitten by the snake and will no longer willingly go near a snake again. This is followed up by lots of loving from you and our instructor.

Call now (435) 275-4536 to reserve your space- they fill up fast!
