ACC INFORMATION

It is with regret that I inform the Kayenta community that Wendy Bradley submitted her resignation from the Kayenta Architecture Control Committee (ACC) effective December 31, 2016.  Wendy served as chair of the ACC for the past two years, and co-chair for the years previous. During that time, as the building activity increased, she managed an increase in the number of new construction plan reviews, as well as members’ requests for solar installation, landscape plans and other applications.  Under her leadership, the ACC instituted a number of improvements in the application submittal process and new construction review.  Kayenta will miss her dedication and management skill.

With Wendy’s impending resignation, I would like to encourage Kayenta residents interested in serving on the ACC or chairing the ACC, to contact me. The Board is seeking individuals that have an interest in the ACC to implement the Kayenta concept as it applies to new construction, remodels, landscaping or other exterior modification to homes.  We are seeking an individual with good interpersonal skills, problem-solving capabilities and organizational skills.  A background in viewing construction plans is helpful.

If you would like to discuss serving on the ACC please let me know. I can be reached at 435-275-4274 or JeffHartman@gmail.com

The Kayenta ACC meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month, 2:00 pm in the Kayenta Community Room. A hard copy of the agenda is posted in the Kayenta Homes & Properties office the Thursday before the meeting. Questions? Wendy Bradley • Phone: 435-705-4784 • email: wendy.bradley@gmail.com

KAYENTA DESERT ARBORETUM ~ Roger Head ~

kayenta Desert ArboretumAt last all funding for our Arboretum expansion is in place.  The project will link the Arboretum with the Desert Rose Labyrinth and to make substantial improvements throughout.  Our request began with a letter asking for assistance in March, 2015.  We have knocked on many doors since then.  Our list of partners now includes: Kayenta Desert Arboretum Foundation: $5,000; Kaqyenta Arts Foundation: $5,000; Ivins City: $10,000; State of Utah Water Resources Division: $10,000; Washington County Water Conservancy District: $1200; Private Donor: $400.

Thanks to all for making this project a reality!  Work will begin once temperature have begun to drop this fall. Project funds will be primarily be used for  the purchase of materials and we are dependent on community volunteers to accomplish the work.   We are in the process of preparing a volunteer list.  If you can assist, please contact Roger Head, rbh@mtaonline.net or 435-632-1814.
