Coyote TalesCoyote Tales Storytelling

October 7th

Do you want to hear a great story?

“…So we put our water behind a creosote bush. The problem was, on the way back, all creosotes looked the same…”

Coyote TalesCoyote Tales is a live, open-mic style storytelling event for amateur or experienced storytellers. The stage is a no-pressure atmosphere to connect with your neighbors around a shared experience. Stories may be funny, touching, poignant or serious. Learn more about your neighbors and yourself at Coyote Tales, Saturday, October 7, 2017. Each event has a theme, on which stories are to be loosely based. This event’s theme is “LESSON LEARNED.” Get ready to tell – or just hear – some great stories about life’s lessons. Was mother’s advice not heeded? Maybe life has schooled you in an unusual way. Has reckless behavior yielded reckless results? Or, were best practices ignored to surprise endings… When the doors open, put your name in the hat if you want to share your tale. If chosen, take the stage to delight the audience. Stories must be true, told live, within the given time frame (about 5 minutes). They must be told without notes, props, or accompaniment.

Please contact Victoria at 801-755- 6644
For help developing your story, check out our website. Once there, you can get storytelling tips and tricks to help you craft your tale. Get the whole story at http://coyotetales.kayentaartsfoundation.org/

Ticket price is $15.00
Tickets may be purchased in advance through Coyote Tales website:
the KAF website https://kayentaartsfoundation.org/events.html or the evening of the event at the door.

Please note that adult themes may be discussed. Some listeners may find a story’s subject matter difficult.

[Title of Show]

[title of show]

Music & Lyrics by Jeff Bowen Book by Hunter Bell in association with R&H THEATRICALS and Directed by Dougals Caputo

Kayenta Arts Foundation presents the best musical you’ve never heard of! [title of show] is a funny, slightly irreverent and uplifting musical. The New York Times said it’s “…obsessively and hilariously self referential…” and “…far funnier than many of the more expensively manufactured musicals that make it to Broadway…” [title of show] will be making it’s southern Utah premiere and be the inaugural theatrical performance at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta, in October.

This show is intended for a mature audience. For Tickets visit: KayentaArts.com

Unless otherwise mentioned, events will be held at the Lorraine Boccardo Theater, Center for the Arts. Some listed programing is tentative and in the  early stages of development. All programing is subject to change.

Kayenta Homes & Properties

Hello from Kayenta Homes & Properties.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Labor Day pot luck party. It was another good crowd in spite of the heat and having no electricity. The food our guests bring is always amazing.

Things are still booming here. We just closed on a home on Towab Way to set yet another record sale for Kayenta at $301 per sq. ft., the highest figure per sq. ft. ever sold in Kayenta. Our goal has always been to maintain property values here which helps us all. We want to continue that trend.

If you would like to discuss the value of your home. Don’t hesitate to stop in and have a chat.

~ A Collaborative Effort ~

Landscape committe header

You can garden through the winter in almost any climate.

Even northern gardeners can enjoy harvests of root crops and greens in the winter if they are willing to put in the effort to protect plants with cloches, cold frames, or hoop houses. However, gardeners in mild winter areas, such as coastal California, Oregon and Washington; Arizona; Texas and Florida, can really bask in fall and winter’s glory. While gardeners in cool summer areas, such as coastal Northern California, Oregon and Washington, look to extend and protect fall planted veggies through the damp, cool weather of winter, gardeners in southern Arizona, the Gulf Coast, Texas, and Florida are loving the cool temperatures to sow and grow a variety of vegetables that don’t survive the heat of summer. In some areas, such as southern Florida and Texas, they are even growing warm season crops of tomatoes in winter, but that’s a topic for another article.

In this article, I’d like to focus on the crops and techniques you can use to grow a winter garden in hardiness zones 7, 8, and 9. If you’re gardening in a colder climate, check out these stories I wrote on a Fall Greens Garden and Season Extenders to enjoy fresh produce in your garden this winter. In the mild winter areas, temperatures rarely get much below freezing for very long in winter, although sometimes temperatures can dip into the teens. There’s still time to plant many cool weather loving crops in most of these regions.

Here is the article: https://garden.org/learn/articles/view/4038/

Please visit the Kayenta HOA website ACC tab for Landscaping documentation. Select Landscaping Regulations Rev 2017 and Landscaping Review Steps 2017.

If you have an article you would like us to consider for this new section in the Kayenta Newsletter please contact Sueann Skudlarczyk at saskud@gmail.com.
