$75,000 for $75,000 Before August 7th!

It’s almost Showtime! But before we can offer an amazingly-authentic-intimate-quality theatrical experience we need to complete the outfitting of the Theatre!

Luckily, we have been offered a matching challenge to help get the job done, but we are running out of time!

Generous donors have offered to match up to $75,000, one dollar for every dollar raised.

We have a very short time frame to reach this goal and take advantage of this amazing gift.

To date, we have raised enough for chairs, risers, rigging, and a studio piano, but here is what we need to achieve a fully outfitted Center:

Immediately needed for grand opening: $200,000 by August 7th to order:

  • Sound System
  • Lighting System
  • Draperies
  • Accessibility System for Persons with Hearing Impairments ($5,000 Pledged)

Needed to complete outfitting for the first full season: $150,000 by September 30th to obtain:

  • Projection Equipment ($5,000 Pledged)
  • Concert Piano ($5,000 Pledged)
  • Dance Floor
  • Spotlight

URGENT! WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW! Give $500 or more and be recognized on a plaque in the Center showing that you support the arts in southern Utah.

During the hot summer months the Real Estate market usually slows down, but here at Kayenta Homes & Properties we’ve been breaking records…and not just with the temperature. In July we closed one of our listings with an unheard of $294.22 per square foot sales price which in turn establishes greater values in Kayenta. Also in July, we’ve been breaking the million dollar glass ceiling by putting two of our million dollar plus listings under contract. The homes were listed and $1,200,000 and $1,399,900.

This year has been a very successful year for sales in Kayenta. Since January 1st,2017 there have been 26 homes sold. Currently there are 3 homes under contract and 7 available listings. As far as lots go, 21 have sold and there are 3 under contract.

If you are curious as to the value of your home/lot or are thinking of selling, please stop by our Real Estate Gallery located in the Art Village or give us a call at 435-628-7234. We will use our expertise and love of Kayenta to value your home and give you a complete overview of the market trends in Kayenta.

We are excited to finish this year out with another successful fall selling season and are looking forward to seeing you all around the Art Village.

Kayenta Desert ArboretumKAYENTA DESERT ARBORETUM
~ Roger Head ~

Although we are experiencing summer temperatures early this year we hope you will take the time to stroll through the arboretum gardens to see how well the plants of the desert adapt to the heat.  Construction of the connection between the Arboretum and the Desert Rose Labyrinth has taken a pause due to the heat and the long awaited sewer line project on Kayenta Parkway.  This spring we planted a number of desert plants along the route.  Thanks to a number of volunteers who are hand watering them, they will survive until the project is completed this fall.of the volunteers who have devoted many hours to the project.  Without this volunteer effort, this project would not have been possible.

COMMUNITY ADVOCATES

INKAS – IVINS NO KILL ANIMAL SUPPORTERS
~ Connie Butterfield ~

Ivins no-kill animal supporters

On June 24th, the Ivins City Animal Shelter hosted their Volunteer Appreciation luncheon. The Ivins City Shelter staff understands if it were not for the efforts of all the volunteers the Shelter would not continue to be as successful as it is. While recognizing all volunteers and expressing sincere thanks the Shelter also acknowledged two individuals who continue to be untiring in their efforts and support. Ursula Reikes and Les Balliet were honored as the Ivins City Shelter’s “Volunteers of the Year.” Congratulations and thank you Ursula and Les.

In August, the Shelter is reducing some of their adoption fees:
$10 for adult cats • $20 for kittens • $20 for dogs

The Ivins City Shelter is open Monday through Saturday 7am – 3pm.

During June, the Shelter received several kittens that were still needing to nurse. PAWS, One More Chance Rescue and INKAS united their resources and organized the required care for those kittens. Now as healthy independent kittens they have been spayed/neutered and most have already been placed in their forever homes.

The “Wish List” for the shelter this month is: Kirkland (Costco brand) Cat Food. The food is well received by all felines. They give it a big “paw’s up”!

INKAS

While our fundraising efforts slow down during the summer months our volunteer activities stay strong. We have members who volunteer at the Ivins Shelter, we provide transportation for the animals to the vet, training/socializing sessions, off-site walks and back and forth from “Best Friends.” Monies raised from our fundraising events have been used for vet bills, medicine, pet food, kitty litter and other supplies needed at the shelter.

If you are interested in donating to INKAS there is a donation box at the Ivins City Animal Shelter, or, you can visit our website: inkas4pets.org or contact Ruth Webb at: 435-669-1670.

The Ivins City Shelter and INKAS will have a booth at Swiss Days ( Sept. 22 – 23). INKAS will also be at the Red Rocks Car Show at the Santa Clara City Park Sept–23 9:00am – 4:00pm.
