Kayenta Homes & Properties

Fiction or Fact #3

Fiction: List it and forget it
Fact: We constantly market our listings to get them the most exposure possible

Our real estate team is alway front and center when showing your home. We make it our policy not to use a lockbox or allow other Realtors access to your home, unless we are present. We show up early to make sure the home is ready to show and are available throughout the showing to point out the features of your home and the benefits to living in Kayenta. Most buyers have many questions about living in this beautiful environment and neighborhood. With a Kayenta Homes & Properties Realtor at the showing, we make sure those question always get answered.

We are Kayenta Homes & Properties and we never forget about our number one priority–our customers.

A Note from our Director

Summer has exploded in full bloom and beauty and the heat is here to prove it!  We invite you to come inside and enjoy a FULL PLATE of summer theater! The Simon Festival and Kayenta Repertory Company are in full swing rehearsing the following shows: Taming of the Shrew, Barefoot In the Park, Shakespeare’s Roses, Little Shop of Horrors and I Hate Hamlet.  ALL 5 can be purchased as a summer theater set for $110. That is worth three exclamation points!!! Get comfortable, cool, top-notch, truly diverse entertainment in the beautiful Lorraine Boccardo theater. Compared to any other professional venue in the region, this package is a great value for Kayenta residents and friends. Every week a different show, starting July 11th through August 21st! We need your support even more in these slow, lazy summer months. Your patronage during this time is critical for us to stay alive and viable as we present this wonderful array of unique theatrical summer adventures!

The Center for the Arts at Kayenta is searching for additional community support to host performing artists and support cast members through-out the coming fiscal year, July 2019 – June 2020.  Various performers and artists come to visit and entertain at our venue for a reduced fee with housing becoming a part of the negotiated “performance fee” otherwise KAF could not afford the costs of having these top notch artists entertain at our intimate, unique venue! Housing needs are simple; ranging from a spare room with a private bathroom access to a stand alone casita.  The benefits are many; the artists benefit from having a place to stay nearby, while performing at CFAK, the community benefits from having happy artists housed in the local area and the hosts benefit from free admission to a show, a letter stating the In-Kind donation, as well as the overall enrichment of interacting with the performing artists.

If you are interested in volunteering as a host, please contact Paul Andrews, Chairman of the Housing Committee.  Paul can be contacted at 206-601-8157 (call/text) or through email at paulwandrews@hotmail.com.

We have been working with a number of generous community hosts over the years, but this has been an informal, word of mouth approach.  We want to open up the opportunity to host to the greater Kayenta and Entrada communities, which continue to provide enormous support in so many ways. Thank you again!  See you at the theater. Jan B.

See you at the theater.  Jan B.

UPCOMING EVENTS
JULY 2019

The Taming of the Shrew

Center for the Arts at Kayenta
July 11–20
Tickets: $25

Presented by the Kayenta Company

Watch just four breathless, mentally disturbed actors play all twenty eight parts in William Shakespeare’s hilarious tale of an eccentric and torturous romance. A wealthy bachelor in search of a bride meets the insufferable Kate and takes up the challenge of wooing her. This is the play that teaches lovers the proper way to bicker.

Shakespeare’s Roses

Center for the Arts at KayentaJuly–20
Tickets: $25

Presented by the Kayenta Company

Did Syphilis kill Shakespeare, or was it just a shaky-breaky heart? Shakespeare’s Roses tells of the Bard’s final days, revealing the secrets of his love lives, how he got syphilis, why he wrote his sonnets, how some of his great plays got him into trouble…and how he went to the grave having written a lot about love but had never found lasting happiness with it.

Barefoot in the Park

Center for the Arts at Kayenta
July 31–Aug 4
Tickets $25

Presented by the Kayenta Company

Neil Simon’s family comedy is a favorite for all ages who love love. Newlyweds Corrie and Paul Bratter live in an apartment on the top floor of a brownstone in New York City. Corrie is optimistic about their future together, while Paul, the more anxious and grounded half of the couple, worries about the various flaws in the apartment, such as a hole in the skylight, their leaky closet, and the lack of a bathtub. Shortly after moving in, Corrie attempts to set her mother up with their eccentric neighbor Mr. Velasco. During the course of four days, the couple learns to live together while facing the usual daily ups-and-downs. Corrie wants Paul to become more easygoing: for example, to run “barefoot in the park”.

INKAS – IVINS NO KILL ANIMAL SUPPORTERS
~ Lois Hewitt ~

Ivins no-kill animal supporters
July 4, 2019 is this great nation’s 243rd birthday.
As festivities and celebrations are enjoyed with family and friends, INKAS would like to share some ideas for keeping your pets safe during this holiday weekend.  Whenever fireworks are being set off pets should be indoors.  Pets who have never tried to escape before may bolt or dig under, or scale over fences before running off.  In selecting a safe secure space for your pet consider a closed room with plenty of hiding spots.  Play soothing music and keep window treatments drawn and provide a fresh bowl of water.  Collars with current ID tags should be kept on at all times.  Also be certain your pet’s microchipping information is current.  If you or a family member or a friend do lose a pet contact the Ivins Animal Shelter (435-628-1049) immediately and post current photos on social media such as Facebook and Nextdoor Digest.
Enjoy your 4th and “Happy Birthday” USA!!!!
